Smile Why dont they make side fed .22LR's?

Hey guys, got a quick question, why is it that no one makes a side fed lever action rimfire rifle? All lever action rimfire rifles are tube-fed and side ejection. Why is that, something to do with the bullet size or what?

Not all lever action rimfire rifles are tube fed or side eject.

i would just think it would be too hard to push a small 22lr bullet into a tube rather than dropping it in. sometimes i pinch my fingers a little bit when i push bullets into my 30-30 marlin

I don't know for sure but I would think that putting pressure on the rim might not be a good idea. If you use a loading gate you would be putting pressure on the cartridges ignition system. That would be my guess.

Well, it has to do with marketing more than

anything else as this would not be particularly difficult from a design point of view.

If the marketing dept. at any major gun manufacturer gets to feeling demand exists for this it will appear in someone's product line.
