Hey guys, got a quick question, why is it that no one makes a side fed lever action rimfire rifle? All lever action rimfire rifles are tube-fed and side ejection. Why is that, something to do with the bullet size or what?

Not all lever action rimfire rifles are tube fed or side eject.

i would just think it would be too hard to push a small 22lr bullet into a tube rather than dropping it in. sometimes i pinch my fingers a little bit when i push bullets into my 30-30 marlin

I don't know for sure but I would think that putting pressure on the rim might not be a good idea. If you use a loading gate you would be putting pressure on the cartridges ignition system. That would be my guess.

| Well, it has to do with marketing more than
anything else as this would not be particularly difficult from a design point of view. If the marketing dept. at any major gun manufacturer gets to feeling demand exists for this it will appear in someone's product line. |

I've always heard it's because smacking the bottom of rimfire rounds in not the best. LOL
