Pump Action .22?

Sorry I wanted to change the title of my old thread to get some more attention to you pump guys if you saw it.

I recently said in my other thread I held unto a Winchester pump and really liked it.

In your opinion what is the best value pump action .22 today.

Those Rossi and Taurus ones look pretty good to me since they are a copy of the Winchester....and I assume the Rossi and the Taurus are the same gun.

Then I looked online at a Remington...hrm on that one.

So suggestions? I think a pump action might be more economical for me than a bolt action...and I always wanted a Western style firearm to add to my collection.

I do believe that Henry also makes a pump 22. Is a pump 22 "Supremely Viable"? I'm sorry...

I never thought of a pump as a western style gun. Western long guns to me are falling blocks, rolling blocks, or lever guns. Too many cowboy movies I guess.

Well it's got a cowboy look to it. I'm not saying it is a cowboy gun....but I know they are the rifles used in those fair environments.

I like the Winchester repo's Like Taurus makes except for the safety it is in the wrong place and ugly but other than that they will last a lifetime.

remington makes a good pump .22lr

Found an old Winchester Pump in a pawn shop earlier...marked for $600

I ain't paying THAT much for it

Rossi also makes/made a nice pump .22

All the Marlin pumps are pre-1941...so most are either safe queens or beat to heck old shooters.

I've got an old Winchester model 1890, was made in 1906, octagon barrel and all. Think these were used in early carnivals and shooting ranges.

Colt Lightning-calibers from .22 on up to .50.Not very successfull but they are making repros in some of the pistol caliber rifles.Expensive too.

Never met a Taurus long arm I dident like, only plastic on them is the butt unless its equiped with fire sights.

What do you guys think? Good buy or bad buy since it says it has bad pitting on the reciever.

Quite honestly I don't care about looks as long as it will function and shoot good.

I can always get someone to reblue it and fix er up.

for $125 that Rossi looks good. I believe the Rossi s don't have that ridiculuose saftey that the Feds made Taurus put on that classic design for import B.S. regs.

I found a practically new Taurus online that I'm biding on right now...so we'll see how that goes.

If it goes my way I'm getting it and if not I'll buy the Rossi.

would be the Henry although it comes at a higher price than most pumps on the marketplace. Personally, if you can afford the Henry then go for it.

It came. Lovely little sucker...the blueing is spot on and the bore looks crisp...and the action is great.
