| Senior Member | --learn Murphy's Laws of Combat, they are worth their weight in gold. --never go get anyone any lenght of "gig line" --dont go looking for the keys to the humvee --never say the word "repeat" on the radio, use "say again" if you didnt catch it the first time --if ever around the navy, keep in mind the only thing a navy nurse is good for is when you just wanna f**k an officer--go see the Corpsman if you need medical help of any kind --dont ever tell a navy nurse the above sentence as they get butthurt and try to get back at you --keep your weapon spotless and taken care of. The POSs we have are finicky and will fail when you need them most if not taken care of extremely well. That weapon IS your life. --the most dangerous thing you will see is a boot LT with a map and a plan of attack --make sure you shoot straighter than your enemy best of luck and thank you. |

| Senior Member | ALWAYS remember your gear was made by the lowest bidder Also, don't waste your time banging on tanks and such looking for a soft spot in the armor. And no, if you spin the turret of a Bradley 19 times in 1 direction the turret will not pop off. Don't waste your time looking for metric hammers or blinker fluid either.

| Senior Member | -Friendly fire isnt'. -Recoiless rifles aren't. -Suppressive fires won't. -Try to look unimportant, the enemy may be low on ammo. -The 5 second fuse on a grenade will burn in 3 seconds. -The easy way is always mined. -Teamwork is essential, it gives the enemy other people to shoot at. -NEVER draw fire, it only irritates those around you. -No matter how carefully you pack, a ruck sack is always too small. -No matter how small, a ruck sack is always too heavy. -No matter how heavy, a ruck sack will never contain what you want. -No matter what you need, it will ALWAYS be on the bottom. -Motor pools are always 20 degree hotter than the rest of the post during the summer, and 50 degrees colder in the winter. -Inclement weather always happens AFTER you've done PT. -Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself. -If all else fails, call in an air strike. The most imprtant thing that I learned was to never be first, never be last and NEVER, EVER volunteer for anything. Last edited by Copper; 01-07-2006 at 06:31 PM. |

| Senior Member | Don't say " I will try ". You will live to regret it. 2nd, Even if you know they are wrong don't correct them. I remember I was working in the Company Office answering the phones and I noticed my Drill Sargeants (ARMY) had spelled half the platoons names wrong on the black board. I fixed it . I did pushups and Monkee !!!!ers until dinner came back up. |

| Senior Member | When I was still in basic I had a Corporal ask, “What do you think of me Recruit?” I thought for about 2 seconds, (which was almost too long), and replied, “Sir this Recruit has yet to be indoctrinated in the proper way and mode of Marine Corp thinking.” He grinned and responded, “Good answer.” (And before anybody posts anything if you are in Marine basic everybody is a Sir.)
