Drum

Do they make a Drum Magazine for the Makarov. If so where? What capacity. Also, do they make higher cap mags then the ones on buymilsurp.com(10 rds)

I have never seen one advertised any larger than 10 rounds, But a 25+ round drum would sure be interesting!

I do not believe they were ever made. Consider, the Makarov is rather compact and it would cease to be so if it had a drum hanging from it. Unlike the subguns in 380, the Luger in 9mm, and the 1911 in 45, the Makarov wasn't indented to be a "combat pistol". It was more of an execution/suicide pistol for officers.

You want a drum for one of the most concealable handguns around?

Now, I don't think that is entirely true!!!:insane:

Pistolet Makarova was not only issued to officers, but to senior NCOs, KGB, the various "Militias" and to police officers.

I know for a fact they were issued to Hind crews because I personally know an ex-Hind pilot and asked him!! Incidentally, it was only AFTER he immigrated to here that he was able to purchase and own a Makarov!!!

It was certainly used as a combat pistol in Afghanistan and Viet Nam!!!

Now that's not to say that the pistol was never used in the capacity you suggested, but it did have other uses, and it's accuracy suggests that!!

My dad could get MANY pistols to misfire by purposely firing out of battery(holding very loose.)(Sig, Glock, Beretta, etc.) And if one of his officers had to draw quickly, and they fire out of battery, thats tuff poopsky for them. NEVER would one have to worry about that with a makarov! It is extremely accurate, and if you can find a MORE reliable pistol for twice the price of a Mak, I urge you to tell me.

I do think its design was as I said, but practical use is always another thing. And your source does seem quite a bit better than mine (ie I can't remember exactly.)

Thanks for contributing that info!
