Are norinco M14's good? Do they jam a lot? They seem to be priced well. What are the reviews like? Any info helps!!:right:

well they have a closed fire suppresor, dont know what thats about. forged reciever thats good, It depends on what you want, some people brag about them, some people turn up thier nose. m14 the red white and blue true battle rifle- made in china

FutureMarine - I have a NORINCO M14 S/A, that is mostly USGI, after installing USGI parts throughout. The only parts remaining Chinese are the receiver, barrel, Operating Rod Guide, and Gas Cylinder Assembly. I have a N/M barrel and a USGI gas cylinder assembly to put on it, whenever I feel like it.

I changed out the, Stock, Bolt, Trigger Group, Front and Rear Sights, Operating Rod, Operating Rod Spring, Operating Rod Spring Guide, and because I am in California, I removed the Flash Suppressor, and replaced it with a Smith Enterprises Muzzle Brake. This one had a USGI type Flash Suppressor, not the solid one that so many people talk about. I have only seen one of the solid ones, at a gun show.

It shoots very well considering it is loose and sloppy all over, except that the headspace is just what it is supposed to be, the rear sight holds all settings. A friend of mine used it one time in a local match, and on the NRA/CMP 200 yard course, he fired 459/500, which is Expert, not too bad considering the rifle.

I had another one, but sold it because I didn't want it. While it was 100% Chinese, it also shot well, but not quite as well as the one I kept.

Smith Enterprises and Fulton Armory both have standard practices where they make the Chinese M14 S/A's into match rifles, for a price. The receivers are as good as the real USGI M14, or these two companies would not perform the rebuild.

What kind of money did you poor into that massive rebueld? And what would SE and FA charge for the complete rebuild?

Also, is it still good when it is comletely stock(chicom)

The Norinco models I have seen recently look like a cheap copy. I had a Polytec and it was okay but the head space was max in both length and diameter. I sold it and both 2 Springfields, one NM the other a Scout. I love them both and much better in both function and accuracy.

Why buy a rifle that has to be rebuilt to perform the way you want it to. Spend the money up front and buy USA.

I do not know about the Norinco but some Polytec had some heat treatment issues with their receivers. I do not know if Norinco had any issues.

Thanks for the advive. The only reason i was wondering is because my 1911 norinco is GREAT and never gives me problems, and my AK has NEVER given me problems. I guess they dont do the same thing with their m14's.

A guy at the range last year let me fire his Norinco M14...shot very well...he said he's had it quite some time and no problems.

Didn't seem right though...holding an M14 variant that said made in China...
