Now that's just what we need.....more illegals! I'm sure that will fix everything.

That is a big misconception; illegals who work real jobs (not under the table jobs) that use fake id's pay taxes. Documented workers still don't pay taxes either since they are considered non-US citizens. Only US citizens pay us taxes. And since most of the ones whpo are legal citizens or use fake documents have low wage jobs and large families they get all sorts of welfare benefits, along with the EITC (from the republicans) they get all their taxes plus some back. Not to pin this just on the hispanics the whites and blacks use the EITC as well.

All people who buy stuff pays taxes.

Money earned here is taxed here, regardless of citizenship.

I'll look into it and get back to you. It's the first I've ever heard of it, and I met a lot of payrolls in the past. Nowhere did I ever see mentioned a difference in withholding of any sort for non-citizens.

This is straight from the IRS

"For tax purposes, an alien is an individual who is not a U.S. citizen. Aliens are classified as nonresident aliens and resident aliens. This publication will help you determine your status and give you information you will need to file your U.S. tax return. Resident aliens generally are taxed on their worldwide income, the same as U.S. citizens. Nonresident aliens are taxed only on their income from sources within the United States and on certain income connected with the conduct of a trade or business in the United States."

If this is true then there is a misconception out there on what immigrants pay in taxes. Regardless; even if they are taxed they will recieved all of it back if they are in a low income bracket.

I have no problem with that. If they're here legally and playing by the rules, they should be treated accordingly.

Agreed; however one should not have $2500 taken out of their check over the course of the year and then get back $4500 as "Earned Income Tax Credit". Because of this they are paying nothing into the SS or medicare program.

What the HE!! is that anyway? My money wasn't earned the same as theirs?

If they're playing by the same rules, they get the same benefits. If you don't like it for them, you shouldn't like it for anyone (and probably don't, I'm guessing).

YOU hit the BIG nail on the BIG head!

I have the philosophy of "legally screw the government on all you can legally screw them out of" God knows they are gonna waste it anyway....... But the fact remains the EITC is a giveaway program. Money taken from someone's pocket and given to someone else who didn't earn it. A product of an unfair tax system designed to buy votes and wield power for a group of unscrupulous politicians from both sides of the aisles.
