How old to be a Cub Scout

I would like to know how old does a boy have to be to join the Cub Scouts? I figure around 5 or 6 correct?

Tiger Cubs are first grade. Cub Scouts proper starts at 2nd grade. Boy Scouts starts at 6th grade.

Dallas is correct. Cub Scouts start at age 8, Boy Scouts at age 11.

I was nine Y.O. when I joined Cub Scouts. Had lots of fun and learned some important things...like how to tie a "crown knot" which I can still do today.

Just for clarification my son is 8 and he has been in scouts for 3 years.

It is like Dallas says it goes by grade

Tigers 1st grade
Wolfs 2nd grade
Bears 3rd grade
Jr. Weblos 4th grade
Sr. Weblos 5th grade
Boy scouts 6th grade

Your never to old to be a "Scouter" (adult leader)
