Right one?

Hey gents i am looking to possibly get a Glock. I am looking for a fun gun to go to the range fairly inexpensive, NIB, and California okay. I am thinking i want a Glock in .45 ACP but I am okay with 9mm or 40. What model best fits my search field? Where is a good place to get it? (Impact guns is out of stock on most glocks that would be california okay.) It seems they never go back in stoc, because sokme tings say 'out of stock, accepting orders' for a LONG time

What are some other sites that sell Glocks, not bidding or private owner sites, but actually companies(i.e. impact guns)?

Not to discourage you from the Glock, but simply as another option, I would recomend looking into the Springfield XD. They come in 9, 40, 357sig, 45gap, and 45acp. Most people tend to like the ergonimics of the Xd more than the Glock since the grip angle is more like a 1911.

well i have fired an XD in a few calibers and same with the glock. I did like the XD i just liked the glock a little bit more

Here is a link to CDNN/TargetsportsInc...they are a reputable outfit I've dealt with them and have had only good things to say. They don't list their prices on the GLOCK as they are below wholesale, they sell new and used/trade ins. They have a toll free # to call and inquire. As far as GLOCK goes my favorites are the 9x19 chambered pistols, I have a 17, 19 and a 26. The 9 is inexpensive to shoot and with the proper load very lethal and very controllable. I've had the GLOCK in .357SIG, .40S&W as well as .45ACP....I just like the 9mm probably cause I can shoot it well:target:

I got to handle a Glock 17 and 19 today(the one that has no finger grooves) and DARN them things fit me well. My question to you is, what generatioin would they be? Again, they had no finger grooves, so I think that rules out 3rd generation.

First or second generation.
Don't quote me but I think the difference is in the grip. The first gen had a totally smooth grip and the second had serations to improve gripping the pistol.

The Glock 36 (.45ACP) rocks!!!

I have a Glock 21 2nd gen and it great. I would recommed that as one to get.

I'm not a big Glock fan, however if I wanted to get one to round off a collection, I'd go with the original that started it, 9mm.

i want 9mm because i want a good quality range gun and cheap ammo, if i wanted protection, it would be in 40. a glock 22.

Are the grips interchangeable? What i mean is can i buy say a 3rd generation and put on Gen 2 grips? Also, any afermarket grips that you guys prefer?

I'm not sure what you mean. But if it's what I think, the answer is no. The finger grooves are moulded into the frame. That's why there are different generations. The moulds eventually wear out and have to be replaced. When that happened, Glock took the opertunity to redesign them.

You can, however buy aftermarket "grips" such as the Hogue handall or the A-grip. The former is a rubber slip on affair and the later is a wrap around product that looks and feels like suade. Here are examples of both, installed on my second generation G23.

First, the Hogue Handall.

Now, the Agrip.

Of the two, I much prefer the Agrip.

They come in a wide assortment of colors as well.

My wife has a PURPLE Agrip installed on her G26.

Ok.
There is a third option that didn't get mentioned in the last post because I didn't have a pic to go with the discription. That is the Decal Grip.

I installed these on MY G26, the one you saw on the top in the previous post.
It amounts to pre cut skateboard tape that you self apply. It comes in two textures: rubber and sand. I recently gave it a try and found it to be entirely satisfactory!!
I installed the sand textured product.
