picking up a CZ75BD Police tomorrow

I am picking up a CZ75BD tomorrow. It is like new with only 200 rounds thru it, 10 of which were fired by me. My friend bought it brand new a couple of months ago, now he has decided he wants a Glock 19C. I guess he figures the CZ is too heavy for a carry gun. He knew I really like the CZ75BD so he offered it to me at a fair price and I jumped.

Can't wait to get it back out to the range now that it will be mine! It is the most accurate handgun I have ever fired - the closest in accuracy was probably the Kimber .45 another friend of mine has. My Ruger and my Bersa are both plenty accurate for self-defense, but the CZ has them beat fairly easily.

Very nice Jay! I am kind of in awe as to why he would give up a CZ75 for a Glock, but if he will enjoy it more then it's his loss ( IMHO ). CZ 75's are wonderful pistols. Very smooth operation out of the box, very accurate, and also very attractive looking to boot! You will have to post up some pics when you finally get it.

I have to many pistols to list, but my most recent purchase was, like you, a CZ75BD. I took it to the range and was impressed with it's accuracy. I really like to grip, it has a natural feel. It may become a favorite. My past preference has been 45cal pistols, maybe there is a CZ97 in my future.

Especially when he had to take the cash I gave him for the CZ and pony up another $200+ for the Glock! The only thing I can figure is weight. The Glock is considerably lighter. Apparently he feels the CZ75 is too heavy for carry...? But as you said, his loss is MY GAIN!
I picked it up today, cleaned it (ok, ok, it was already clean as a whistle, but it's my new toy and I couldn't get to the range today so I had to do SOMETHING with it...) and played with the included snap caps a little. Do any other firearms come with snap caps from the factory?
It is the CZ 75BD POLICE model with night sights, chambered round indicator and lanyard at the bottom of the magazine well. I was really lucky to get one with night sights! They aren't that common from what I understand.
Here are some pics. I've GOT to get a better camera...

It came in the factory box with 2 15-rd mags, snap caps, manual, cleaning rod and brush, etc.

Thats awesome Jay, congrats on your new aquisition! Only Cz's I have right now are the 83 and the 52, but I do plan on getting a 75, as I have always been a big fan of the design.
I have the Italian clone made by Tanfoglio, the TZ75, that is an awesome shooter as well. The safety is a little notchier than the Cz's I have noticed, but the trigger ( once broken in ) is pretty comparable. ( The TZ also has a firing pin block which makes it nice for CCW... some CZ75's dont )
As far as carry goes, I can carry my TZ comfortably all day long, as long as my holster is on my strong side and over my back pocket. As long as I wear a shirt with a decent tail on it, I really don't have to worry about printing with my IWB holster. The weight isn't too bad either, as long as I am wearing a belt. ( to keep my pants from sagging )
But anyway, welcome to the CZ club! I'm sure your new pistol will serve you well for years to come!

My CZ75BD is the decocker model, so it doesn't have a safety. It's good to hear that you carry your TZ with no problems! I haven't had my carry permit that long, so I am still working out the kinks and trying to see what works best for me.

Right now I am carrying a little Bersa T380CC, it is really small and easy to carry and very accurate out to 25-30 feet. It may take me a while to figure out what works for me, before I can comfortably carry something like the CZ75. So for now I use it for home defense or special situations.
