| Senior Member ![]() | Learned something bow hunting Sunday My friend and I were in my ground blind. He seen a couple of does come up where I would have had a shot on my side. I went ahead with the draw to do the hold let off thing for what I figured would be the next two minutes or so. Well, there was this awfull noise when I pulled it back. Not quite loud enough to spook the deer (they went a different direction all on thier own) We got looking at the bow after the hunt. My buddy grabs one of my arrows and starts rubbing it down with a white terry cloth shop rag. He shows me a bunch of dirt on the rag. Runs the arrow across the rest, viola no more noise. Apparently dirt, water spots and other impurities were the culprits. Moral of story, wipe down those arrow shafts for a quieter draw.
