| Senior Member | "To !!!! and back reliability" is an overstatement. With each box of ammunition, doesn't matter what brand, my Sig 226 DAK (9mm Lug.) has a couple hang-fires and a two or three failures to fire. Again, this is with Federal AE, PMC Bronze, CCI Blazer and Black Hills FMJ. I've shot well over a thousand rounds and it does this more or less regularly since I bought it. What's up with that? ![]() |

| Senior Member | A Sig should not be doing that. The couple that I have owned have been flawless. Contact Sig about this. Their customer service is usually excelent. Edit: are those 5 malfunctions that you listed in the entire life of the pistol, or in 1 range session. I'm just trying to get a time frame here.

| Senior Member | No stovepipes. There is no problem ejecting or loading. Once in the chamber they sometimes just don't shoot or else delay fire. For the failures to fire, a second hit usually sets them off. I should also mention that after every use where I shoot 100 to 150 rounds, I clean it meticulously. The shots at the beginning of the session are just as likely to misfire as those at the end. A couple weeks ago I had a primer-only ignition. The primer ignited sending the projectile into the beginning of the barrel, but the blob of powder did not ignite. This does not happen in my Beretta, so I don't think it is me. Frankly, I think the firing pin is just not hitting hard enough. The hammer on the DAK has no spur making it slightly lighter than single/double models. That probably has nothing to do with it, but it did occur to me. |

| Senior Member ![]() | You might have a weak strike on the FP, a chamber a little out of headspace or be extremely unlucky in ammo. I'd contact SIG. If it were a 1911 I'd tear it down and have it running in about 15 min.
