| best thompson caplock
I am planning on hunting the muzzleloader season next year in WA, and I was wondering what thompson is the best. by law it has to be a traditional cap or flintlock, but I'm only considering the caplock. The options are the hawken, new englander, renegade, and tree hawk(by the way, only the hawken is listed on the webpage, have the others been discontinued?) Are there any models in particular to stay away from? I'm seriously looking at the renegade.

I've got a .54 caliber TC Hawken with less than 50 rounds through it. Excellent rifle, but I have torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders and can't use it due to recoil. Never hunted with it, but can verify it's accuracy and dependability from shooting it on the range. Having to get rid of all my .30-06s, too. Nothing larger than .223 Remington from now on. Puts me into a different mindset when I handle and shoot that Hawken. Last edited by JBS; 11-15-2006 at 11:05 PM. Reason: content |
