Does it use the same mags as the P22 pistol? Looking to use common mags.

No, I don't belive they do. I looked at them at several gun shows. They're cool, but just couldn't spend the $$$ for another .22...

I have one, and I love the rifle. It's my everyday squirrel/ rabbit gun.

I feel like I need to do it justice by getting a higher grade scope. as a lot of users suggest, a $50 scope is probably ok for a squirrelling .22, but it seems like I've also read that you should invest a similar amount of money in the scope as you do for the gun. So it's probably an aesthetic thing, as the gun looks lovely.

Anyway, I put mine up against my buddies Browning Buckmark, an very awesome gun in itself, and it's just as sharp. The only thing i don't like much, after using it for a year, is that the Barrel warms up easily, say a coupla clips in succession. bill's Buckmark has the more solid barrel and it's claimed you can shoot it all day and it won't warm up, and I agree, it's not got warm yet.

Other than that, the G22's great, if a little overweight, and you need to take caution when stripping and cleaning it. there's a very fine v-shaped pin that shouldn't be messed with too much when you take it apart. don't disturb it too much, it's tricky to put back in place, or replace if you lose it and the next door neighbor steps on it (don't ask...)

As for hit-ability, I dropped a full-size coyote at 75 yards, and he crawled the length of the gun. no more lead was required. So in the real world, it performs just fine.
