Primary carry gun(s)

If you have a CCW, what is your primary carry gun?

I just changed mine, from a Bersa T380CC to a Bersa Ultra Compact 9mm. Of course I will alter my carry weapon at different times, based on clothing, weather, situation, etc.

I will still carry the T380CC when I need something a little lighter and a little smaller. I may also carry a Ruger P95DC 9mm, CZ75BD 9mm or Rock Island 1911 at times, but not on a regular basis.

I carry the Bersa UC9 in a HighNoon SplitDecision IWB on my hip. For the T380CC I use a Law Concealment Systems SOB rig, but I also have an Uncle Mike's pocket holster for it that easily fits in my front pants pocket. For the occasional carries, I use Uncle Mike 'pancake' holsters.

Ruger SP-101, 3" barrel, 357 mag or Bersa Thunder Duo Tone .380 ACP.

EDITED: I have added a CZ 75 compact in 9mm and one in 40 S&W. Really like the 40.

Excellent choices all, so far, in my opinion. Colt Defender for .45ACP power in a smaller than usual package; Glock 21 - well, Glocks are very popular, though not my personal preference; and certainly can't go wrong with the Ruger SP101 or the Bersa .380, either.

Jay68442, how long have you had the Colt Defender? What do you like (or not like) about it?

Hi Jay,
I have had the defender for quite a few years now. Not sure exactly, maybe 7 years. I got it not long after it came out. The thing I like the most about it is how well it shots for a compact .45. When I first saw it I thought it would be a very jumpy gun due to its small size and large round. To my surprise and the many people I let try it out, this gun is not that jumpy at all. Don't get me wrong, it has a good kick but no worse then a full size .45. I am able to put together nice groupings with it and even hit a hinging soda can at about 25 yards.

As for dislikes, I really don't have any. I did have to send the gun back to colt once because the ejector had become worn and the shells were hitting me in the head. Worked great when I got it back.

I primarily carry either a Bersa Thunder .380 or a S&W 642 with Crimson Trace grips.

My primary CC is a .45 auto either the Colt or the Kimber, for Long carry /travel I Carry a .380 Makarov. A Jennings .22 pocket piece also
as backup!

1. Colt detective special
.38 cal six shots. Fits perfect in my ankle holster
2. Colt Defender
.45 cal 7+1 . Very light. and accurate.
3. Beretta 84f.
.380 cal 14. accurate and reliable.

I have others but these are the three I carry concealed the most.

I used to carry a rossi 38sp with a 2" barrel....then switched to this 7 shot hog in .357 magnum with a 4" barrel...and I love it....the porting makes it feel like you are shooting a .22 and it sounds like a .44

I haven't gotten my CCW yet, but I am working on it.

I have an FEG .380 ACP. It is basically a Walther PPK look-a-like made in Hungary. It is a nice little slim gun with a 7+1 capacity. Fits well in the small of the back with an inside-pant waist clip conceal holster.

I want to buy a Para Warthog, but need to save some cash for that endeavor.

I carry a nickel Colt Agent .38 special every time I carry concealed, which is about three times a year.

Bookman: Is the Agent a steel frame or alloy frame? I have been looking for a lighter than Detective special (cobra) whats the specs on the Agent? Is it lighter?

I plan on getting a Taurus millennium pro in nine. I like the nine because it comes in 10 or 12 mag capacity. I like Taurus because of the performance/cost. Right now I have a Taurus PT24/7. I found it fit my hand and budget the best. Am I making a good choice by buying Taurus's?

I don't know anything about the Taurus Millenium series except that the price is right - the price has actually come down recently - which may signal a bargain or may not be a good sign!

I would recommend asking that question in the Taurus forum under the Manuafacturers topic here on G&G.

2. SIG Mod. 220, .45 acp in a Bianchi X15 shoulder rig.
3. Uzi Pistol, .45 acp and 9mm with 3 or 4 magazines on the weak side in a custom made ballistic nylon vertical shoulder rig.
