Yup!! I also wrote a letter (Police Chief in my case) that I'm a collector and that my guns are kept in a locked safe. I just wanted them to know I wasn't a dealer or attempting to become one.
I don't know if it was needed, or if it did any good, but since I live only a block from 2 schools I thought I'd cover my butt as well as I could.
Once you send them off, don't expect to hear anything from the local law, and when you figure your "stuff" should show up from the
BATF, keep waiting.. I think my stuff took over 4 months.
It was worth the wait!!
