If I were you, I would just get the Bushnell Trophy. I think it is a lot nicer than the Banner. Or, better yet, geta Nikon Buckmaster or a Burris Fullfield II. I think either of those scopes would make you happy for a reasonable amount of money.

I'd do a google search on name brands and look at different models. Talk with a variety of hunters or competitive shooters. There are a lot of good brands. You will do well with most brands, this will come down to how much do you want to spend. Personally, I have a Leupold. Awesome piece of glass. I've had banner on my 308 and it worked well. No complaints.

I like Sightron scopes for the money. Sightron - Home

Midwayusa.com has them for reasonable prices.

burris, nikon, and sightron all make good quality mid priced scopes. if you buy a good scope, it will last you a lifetime, buy a cheap one and it will let you down at the worst time.

You might want to take a look at the Bushnell 3200 Series. They aren't that high priced, and they are very well made. Some say as good as the Leupolds, and every bit as bright. With their Rainguard patented coating they won't fog up or cause any problems in wet weather. For rings take a good look at the Burris Signature Series. They have the plastic inserts that hold very well and won't mar a scope tube. They also won't cause any flexing of the scope tube itself, and eliminate the need for lapping scope rings. They are the only rings that I use anymore. Bill T.

Wish I'd known about the rings. I'll try them next time. Great idea.

I own 5 Nikon Buckmasters. Really good glass with lifetime warranty. $350.
Bushnell does make a good lower priced unit.
