Cetme Recoil

How is the recoil level on the CETME? (Say, compared to a bolt action .308 or a 7.62x57R ) Has anyone shot both the CETME and a Saiga in 308? If so, is the Saiga close enough to buy now, or should I wait another 3-4 months untill i can buy a CETME? I like the LOOKS of the cetme a whole lot better, but have never shot one. I shot the .308 Saiga last week and liked it, But I did not like the .223 version I shot 6 months ago. I have $325.00 right now. Decisions, desisions...............

To many factors to consider when describing recoil to give a strtaight answer.
I'm 6'4" 215 Lbs and I find the recoil on my CETME extremely light.

Yes, the CETMEs are pretty light on recoil compared to an M-14 or a bolt action. It has a big heavy bolt carrier that absorbs, for lack of a better word, the recoil pulse. A friends M1A (M-14) kicks harder than my Garand and the CETME kicks less than the Garand. Go figure! I like my CETME though, they are good rifles.

I like the recoil on the CETME, I just wish my range didn't limit me to 1 shot per 3 seconds (25 yard indoor range).

The only other rifle I own that I can compare it to is my m91/30 and that's not even a comparison since that thing kicks like a mule without a recoil pad. I did get to shoot a Bushmaster M4 in .223 at the range that a guy brought and it seemed to have the same recoil as my CETME.

I'm still working the kinks out of my CETME, but I still love it.

The CETME is known for it's fairly light felt recoil. It's the only .308 semi-auto I can keep on target while shooting rapid fire. It's a real sweetheart to shoot!

The CETME has no recoil. My M4 and SKS have 10 times the recoil of a CETME. If I had the money there would a be a Spanish lady in the house. I shot one for the first time about 2 months ago and fell in love. I would love to have one. Mags are cheap, they eat all .308 ammo, dead on accurate, and just a blast to shoot. I hope you get one so I live vicariously through you.
