| About a year ago, I ran across and purchased an "M" series MAS-36. I know it was manufactured during or shortly after WWII. It never recieved any of the later upgrades which indicates it was probably out of French hands. It also has a green cresent moon and star painted on the stock. I have read that many MAS-36's were taken from and used against the French during the Algerian revolution. I assume mine falls into that category. It is a beautiful well, balanced and accurate rifle.
