NEF sidekick

I got a NEF sidekick this year to try muzzleloading, and was wondering if you could interchange the barrels, like other NEF products, or if I was limited to a muzzleloader. It has the same action as other NEF's, im just not sure if the stocks match.

In short, no. The Sidekick has a slightly shorter receiver than the Huntsman and only Sidekick barrels will fit. Also the reason you can buy a Sidekick with out going through the red tape. It's designed only for a muzzleloader barrel.
As for stock swapping, have at it. They will all interchange between NEF and H&R models.

On another note, apparently NEF/H&R is discontinuing the Huntsman muzzleloaders, in favor of the Sidekick.

I was looking at getting one too. How do you like it Lng Rng? I am trying to decide between the NEF Sidekick and the CVA Buckhorn. I do not have any BP experience and very limited knowledge. Does anybody have a personal preference or any advice regarding either of these?

I would really get one. For the price they are really good, in my opinion better than the CVA. Mine is really accurate, and the fiber optic sights are really good. Another thing I like about it is that it is tested for a 150 grain charge. BPI, who makes CVA, is out of spain, and is not regulated. Just a little peace of mind when you fire max charge with a heavier sabot.

Cool. Thanksfor the info. Whatever I get, I'll be getting it in mid-may. Right after my 21st b-day. I am stuck between getting an FEG PA-63, an NEF Sidekick, or a Lee Anniversary reloading press. The tough decisions in life right? Haha. I know they are 3 very different things, but I want all of them and a CZ-52 but I talked to a guy at J&G and he said he thought hey would be out of them by the end of April or so and might not get more in for a few months.
