Trigger

The trigger on my recently purchased 1903 is pretty bad. Like I said in a previous post, it's a mut gun, in sporter form with parts from various companies. The gun shoots accurately, but the trigger has a lot of floating movement before it hits a wall, at which further pressure will cause it to break.

I have become used to this free movement before the hammer breaking, but, it would be nice to have a firm, clean snapping trigger. Are there ways to fix this, or places to buy a new trigger? Can triggers on 1903 rifles be swapped out?

Sure , you can buy replacement triggers from Sarco, E-gun parts, or Popperts. But if you want a great trigger, get an adjustable Timney Sportsman that retails for 48.85 from Brownells. Adjusts from 2-4lbs. pull weight, creep, and overtravel. Stock #883-100-103...!
