| Senior Member | Well, they know where they hit it. Which means they can go to that spot and do some good ol' tracking of the blood trail. If they're good enough to make those kinds of shots, I'm sure they've got a little tracking knowledge as well. ;-) |

| Member | Yeah that is some great shooting. I cant think of the guys name but he makes videos of long distance shooting at 1000 yards plus. I saw one where he shot a coyote at 1000 yards. Thats pretty crazy shooting. If i find his name i'll let yall know. John Burns, this is the guy i was talking about. The name of one of his movies is "Best of the West", check it out if you see it somewhere. The guy makes some unbelievable kills. Last edited by jwhunter; 03-15-2007 at 01:35 PM. | Mr. Fixit ![]() | While I appreciate all of the knowledge and money that goes into making those shots, I personally don't find it ethical. At those distances, a deer can take a step when the shot breaks and end up getting hit in a non-vital area. If that happens, it could potentially reach deep cover and die a long, slow death. For the guys that have the capability, I guess it's O.K. but I don't think I'd be comfortable with it-I prefer quick, clean, painless kills. Predators are a different story-I'll take a shot at a coyote at any distance.
