M1A build

How hard would it be to just buy the M1A parts that I wanted and build the M1A myself?
I figure I've seen Kits to build a semi auto 1919 and you save about half from the already built replicas.
Has anyone done this or know of someone who has?

You can do it, but I suggest you have an M14 pro install your barrel and headspace the bolt.

Sarco Advertizes M1A Match Grade Receivers.
The Gubment let out a few M14s but recended that. Their thinking: once a full auto - always a full auto.
Doh!
Fulton Armory has parts and a few other suppliers.
