| Senior Member | Love the gun, but here's Kalifornia's cost of a PA 63 The PA 63 I ordered Friday night just came into the shop that's handling the FFL out of state transfer, so I went in to sign the paperework, and pay the $85 cost of their processing. The nice gal, Sandra, asked if I had the hangun safety certificate. I said "no", and she said it's mandatory that I take and pass the test for my certification to complete the transfer paperwork. She also mentioned that it's $25 for the test... So, the $109 deal from J&G Sales now looks like this: $109 - gun $26 overnight (required) shipping $85 background check $25 safety certification === $245 total! Welcome to Kalifornia! (I don't think they like handguns here...) ![]() |

| Super Moderator ![]() | Compare overhead in PA, where fair transfer fees are $20-30, to overhead in CA, couple that with state licensing fees for the dealership (I think that's tht case).

| Senior Member | I'm being sent to Phoenix this coming week on business, and I wrote J&G to see if I could drive up and purchase another PS 63 to bring home. They replied that since I'm a Californian, I am not allowed to purchase a weapon out of state and bring it back in. I guess Commiefornia wants their fees... |
