| Senior Member | I am not surprised. Time to get more AR mags. They are going to get our guns, but they can't do that quite yet so they go for our mags. Next, assault rifles, and soon all guns.

| Senior Member | Maybe it's just me, but where in there did they define "large capacity"?... Is more than a single-shot bolt action, say a 5-round mag in a CETME, a "large capacity"? This woman needs to go... in the worst way possible. I knew something would crop up after the shooting, but I was expecting something more severe. I see she's going in baby steps... since the guy used "large capacity" magazines in his "Assault Weapon"... er, wait... HE USED PISTOLS!!! *beats McCarthy with the Clue-by-four*

| Senior Member | JAC, please don't point out that the ittle idiot used handguns. That's the one key element I haven't heard of being put on the axing block. So far it's been Hi-Cap mags, "evil" rifles, and the like, none of which I own or have much interest in. This will come back to bite us ALL not just the owners of Semi-Auto ARs. Thanks Alot, Cho.

| Moderator ![]() | There was a lot of talk about large capacity "clips" just after the Virginia Tech shooting. That incident was pointed to as a reason to ban large capacity "clips". The woman being interviewed kept referring to magazines as "clips", which told me how much she really knew about the subject. The media is already cashing in on gun control specials as a result of the shooting. Hot Air » Blog Archive » Video: MSNBC already cashing in on massacre, pimps new gun control special Here is an interesting piece from Ron Paul's perspective. | Senior Member ![]() | No matter how many gun bills are presented or whether they make sense it will come down to who has the most money to get the propaganda out and how much propaganda is presented to the public. If most propaganda is pro-gun control bills will be passed. This doesnt make it law.The president must sign. That makes it law. With the wimpy republicans we have, even if enough southern democrat,s vote pro-second ammendment the wimpy republicans are apt to throw the balance to pro-gun control. In other words the law will be bought and paid for by big money and what the media post,s.Since the media is pro-gun control we are in for a big fight. The pin(even when lying)is still mightier than the sword.None of these people,Hollywood, the media, and especially politicians, care about safety or fairness They only care about their own agenda and holding onto power. The politicians will go with big money and votes, not justice and fairness. samuel. Last edited by samuel; 04-18-2007 at 08:46 AM. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | The way I read the law, it digs up parts of the 94 ban including the AW terminology. I could be wrong, but it looks like this whoel bill actually reauthorizes the expired AW ban. Of course it also contains a key error. She referred to the "repeal" of the 94 ban. It was never repealed. It expired according to its own wording.

Battle...you've found the loophole in 24 hours. You're a genius! I wonder if that'll stand up. What are the chances that this will pass? | |

| Super Moderator ![]() | I dunno, there's equal chance that people voting on it will miss that it reauthorizes the whole old AWB, if I understand correctly.

| Super Moderator ![]() | Buy what you want, but don't act like a ban is a foregone conclusion. DO SOMETHING about it! Write your congressmen and write in your weblogs. Talk to your friends and keep the record straight. The antis were ready to pounce on this tragedy but the NRA and GOA are ready to pounce on them.

| Senior Member | Yeah, instead of buying what you want before they get banned how about pouring money into PREVENTING our rights from being infringed. I have 2 sks's in my house with a total of 20 rnds of ammo for each. In reality, should the police come knockin at my door and I were determined to keep my guns against a total ban on firearms, I would be alone. Not because I wouldn't have support but because I would be the only one able to shoot in my house right now. If the gas didn't get me the S.W.A.T. team would. I might be able to empty my rifle before they could get to me. The point of saying all that? We need to be ALL TOGETHER using all the proper channels possible. Stocking up won't help. All they will point out is that "some extremist is locked up in his basement will all sorts of assault weapons." You have to use your head not your "brawn" unless it's a last resort. If what I say stirs up something in you guys in the wrong way I appologize, but I do think we should fight this stuff SMARTER instead of HARDER. Is that too much to ask for? ![]() |
