Cz82

Don't know if anyone else has heard this, but I received an email from J & G Sales in AZ that said the CZ82 has now been classified as C & R eligible. Might have to try one of those, which I believe are 9 x 18 (easy to find ammo).

CZ 82 Info.

Re: CZ82 Pistol. As a suggestion try AIMsurplus.com.
I ordered one today. Price: 199.95 or add $10.00 for
hand select. Should receive in 10 days.

That looks like a good price Norm. J & G Sales' price is $229.95 (in very good condition).

I called AIM and SOG both. SOG only offers one magazine and no holster for the same price as AIM does for all that. SOG said they would match AIM if I could show them an advertised special. I said to just go look at the AIM web site and I was told that the call taker didn't have internet access. I printed out the web page and faxed it to SOG. No response and after waiting all day, all I got was no answer on the phones. I called AIM and was about to order until I was told that shipping was going to be over $31. That is just plain insane. Order cancelled for now. UPS next day air should not cost that much. I have had several handguns shipped and never paid anywhere near that much. Half that, yes, but over $30, NO.

troylaplante,
The sad truth of the matter is that gun owners are the only folks here who suffer from UPS's ridiculous policy of shipping pistols over-night; other carriers require it as well but all of the carriers are only exploiting the gun owner. The fact of the matter is that UPS and FedEx have had a bunch of handgun thefts, this is a UPS or FedEx management or internal security problem......however they in their infinite wisdom have decided to MAKE a gun dealer/gun collector pay their exhorbitant pricing on over-night shipping. It sucks but it is what it is. The USPS still allow 01 dealers to ship and receive pistol by mail. Thankfully, I have a local 01 who will accept my C&R as transfer and his costs are less than what UPS/FedEx charge for over-night. There is not a Federal law that dictates overnight shipping on handguns....

I love my CZ82. I haven't had it very long, but it has already earned a place in my carry rotation, in fact it is my primary carry right now until my Bersa UC9 comes back from the smith.

CZ82: Accurate, relatively small, easy to carry and conceal. Not light, but not too heavy. I use Hornady 95gr XTP for carry rounds, S&B FMJ for range rounds. Never had a jam, FTF, FTE, nothing - so far in 200+ rounds. Put a variety thru for initial testing: CCI FMJ, S&B FMJ, Hornady XTP HP, Georgia Arms Gold Dot HP.

CZ 82 from Centerfire Systems

Just picked up a CZ 82 from Centerfire Sytems, Inc. for $ 199.95. I went with them because they offered USPS shipping for an additional $ 9.99. The gun was back ordered so, I am just waiting on the mail man right now.

Nice pickup, tarriverpirate! I was looking at those also, along with the PA-63's.

Oh, and welcome to "the friendliest gun forum on the internet" -Gunny Approved!

I've gotten them AND shipped them USPS....03 dealers can ship USPS and you can send antique handguns via USPS.

I've read that the Don Hume holster for a Beretta 84 will fit the CZ82, this has been posted in response to questions on several forums. Supposedly, the Beretta 84 and the CZ82 are very close in size and shape.

UPS has a hub at the Columbia SC airport where several employees were arrested last year for gun theft at that hub but only after SEVERAL HUNDRED handguns were stolen there in about a 5 year period. It was a really big ring shut down. I live just outside Columbia.

If you want an alternative way of shipping your guns through UPS without the hassle you should ship them as "Machine Parts" in the description. It's not lying, and you avoid the hefty overnight fee's they charge for firearms. Not only that, but you also avoid having the "Firearm" sticker put on your package, which makes it a lot less likely to get stolen by the UPS monkeys.

Some of you guys don't know what you're talking about, and you could get someone in trouble.

First, there is no such thing as an "03 dealer." An 03 is specifically NOT a dealer, and can be jailed and fined if he uses his license to deal in firearms.

Second, an 03 cannot use USPS to receive or mail handguns. Long guns, yes, handguns NO. Handguns may only be mailed 01 to 01, with very few exceptions, and 03s aren't one of those exceptions.

Third, if you fail to properly ID the contents of your shipped package, good luck collecting on the insurance.

Fourth, there is no such thing as a "'Firearm' sticker." Federal law specifically prohibits carriers from doing that. The Columbia, SC thieves stole shipments to and from Ellett Brothers, a major firearms distributor based locally.
