| Member | Question on Chinese ammo I came across .308 win Ammo made by Norinco under the trade name ChinaSports. This is berdan primed, steel case, non-corrosive, lead core 147 Gr. FMJ. The head stamp has the #s 61 on top and 92 on the bottom, of course the 61 could also be read as a 19 if the case is rotated. Has any one ever heard of this ammo. |

| Senior Member | I've shot lots of 7.62x39 Norinco through my SKS, and it has performed flawlessly. I don't know how true the non-corrosive label is, since I clean my firearm every 100 rounds (or after taking it to the range). I'd say shoot away...but maybe someone else has another opinion. |

| Moderator ![]() | Simple rule - treat ANY and ALL Berdan primed ammo as corrosive! I once used some Norinco 7.62X39 softpoint in my first Norinco SKS - NOT a happy experience. Lots of feed problems with that particular gun, though it worked flawlessly with FMJ and HP.

Also, I shoot Wolf, berdan, non-corrosive FMJ in my CETME without issue... save for all the smoke it produces. My guess is it should be fine to shoot the Chinese stuff; it was likely designed to shoot through the NDM-86 in .308 (the Chinese version of the Druganov SVD).
