I have a chance to buy a Contender....

Comes with 2 10" bull barrels one in 22LR and the other in 44MAG. It's in mint condition, $500. Should I shop around or buy it now?

I'll pay $400 for a Contender, then add the second barrel which goes around $175.........

I "hadda Contenda", and sold it. It had the 14" .223REM barrel with 4X scope and 10" .22LR barrel with 2.75X scope. Shot great (though it'll lock up using surplus 5.56X45!), was very accurate. Good gun for it's type. BUT . . . you had to learn how to hold it steady to get that accuracy at 100 yards! It was fatigueing to shoot much in a sitting. So, I sent it down the road to someone who could appreciate it more. Kinda wish I'd kept it - but it sat idle too much.
