Proper pronunciation

How do I pronounce "Makarov?"
The correct pronunciation of Makarov is actually "Mah CAR ahv" and not the more frequently heard "MACK uh rahv." <.............From Makarov.com FAQ

I ain't going to change now. I happen to like pronouncing it as MACK uh rahv.

Mine is close to yours. I say it "Mak-uh-rawv", almost "Mak-uh-roff". Probably actually say it the latter way even though I know it ends in V not F.

Hrm... "Sam-yule" or "Sam-you-el"... yup, I could see how that would be a problem. Heck some people here call me JAC and that's not even close to my real name.

Here is a re-post of something I learned a couple of years ago....

I was working at the store the other day and a Russian immigrant came in. I was wearing my Makarov Tee shirt....he exclaimed that he liked my shirt and that he too (now an American Citizen) owns a Makarov. I asked him to say the name of the pistol again and he said ma-KAR-ov with the accent on the second syllable. He said that he is so used to hearing the name said, as I think most Americans do, MAK-a-rov that he doesn't correct it anymore! So, I learned something...not a bad thing
