Thumbs up Champ

Just got a trigger job. The smith put in a Wilson Match trigger and changed the mainspring. What a difference it makes in the groups. I put a Wilson magwell on it and it looks and functions great. As soon as the Aluma-Hyde II paint comes in {Brownells] it will go back to the smith to disassemble it so I can paint the frame OD green and the slide matte black. When is reassembled a new hammer and sear goes in and pivot pin. So, with the Champs the first thing you do to it is a port and polish job, a trigger job and replace sights. The beaver tail on it is adequate to keep my hand from being pinched, so it will come later. It takes a while but the Champ or 5" GI is a rock solid base for a great gun. It loves 117 gr Aguilla ammo, it screams at 1350 fps but is not p+. Dead accurate and frags.
