General quality of Gamo products

Looking for anyones valued opinions. I am specifically looking at the varmiter model. Quality as well as performance.

got a gamo shadow hunter for xmas its great. very accurate of the bench. 5 shots under a dime at 30yrds. been shooting quite a bit since the weather has gotten better, 50-100 rounds a day, been doing mini sniping in the back yard

I'm thinking of dog food steeling birds & mabe using for coons when my buddy uses his dogs.

I've had a Gamo for about three of years now. Very reliable and accurate.

i started to send him a link to the gamo page.. they give you discounts if your a member of the NRA. but i didn't...

Dont get a GAMO. accuracy is subpar, compared to a Benjamin 392 in .22. Also, if your gonna be shooting coons, get the Benjamin .22 model. More thump when it arrives, less wind deflection at the cost of more bullet drop.

I have heard accuracy is not at the top of the list, but acceptable for the money. I'm more concerned about reliability. The coon hunt would be very occasional & there would be another red neck or two with me with a .22 guaranteed. Mostly I'd be plinking paper, nussience (sp?) birds. Pesky burrowing critters that tear up the yard and an ocassional tree rat. Thaw .22 is an option though.

The .22 does an excellent job out to about 100 yards. If you wanna get that really cool POOF when you hit a bird, get the .22. If you wanna make a second shot, get a .177.
