Trigger job

Got a Wilson match trigger put on my Champ today and it is sweet! The smith measured the factory pull at 7+lbs, now it breaks glass at 4 1/2. Can't wait to try it this weekend.

the only thing changed was the trigger itself?????? if so, something is seriously wrong.

Oh, I'm sure he did more than that. he had it for a week. I just brought him a new trigger to replace the GI one, and it is great. It sets my finger forward nicely. Working on some pictures. Next phase, I'll spray the frame Springfield green [while replacing some parts] and re-parkerize the slide, like the new ones, I really like that look. So far: port and polished barrel and ramp job to prevent jams,
milspec rear sight, truglo front, enlarged ejection port, and trigger job and crown bevel. Any suggestions for maybe a Wilson mag ext or pivot pin or slide stop.

Wilson makes some great 1911 parts. There are more expensive parts out there, but why spend the extra money.

Just called Brownells and ordered some Aluma Hyde epoxy for the frame which will be Olive green, but the slide, should it be re parkerized or sprayed matte black or parkerized gray to match Springfield's colors? While the frame is stripped for painting the smith will be putting in a Wilson combat sear and some other goodies. Just installed a Wilson Custom mag well. It got real good groups Sunday.

A wonderfully outfitted Springfield Loaded Champ at 829.00. NEW. It may be time to halt reconstruction and opt out for the final version in stainless. Mercy, decisions, decisions. I think I'll go with new one now that he GI shoots well. I just wish Springfield would make their stainless look like Kimbers.

Went into my local gun store today and found some Lake City .223 for 35.00 for 100.
Then as I was browsing their cases, there it was. A Beautiful S/S loaded Champ! I'm a regular there and he said this guy just traded it in after owning it two weeks. The mag had no wear marks and they wanted 709.00. Hopped in the truck and rushed home and traded my GI Champ in for the down on the Layaway with a balance of 432.00. Oh joy, happy happy. I've been looking for one for a year now. It has every thing including night sights with Cocabola checkered grips. Not a mark on it. What a great day! The only other one around is a new one at McBride's guns for 839.00 if any one is interested.

I've cruised a lot of forums and have yet to see a bad range report on this gun. But if anything goes wrong SA will take care of it as they always do. This person bought it and then he wanted a 40 cal.[ I don't know why]. To each his own, one man's trash is another persons treasure. He's a regular for 15 yrs there, and loses money on every deal. The Loaded champ is a hard to find item around here. The only thing I'll do is port the barrel if I have to. For a balance of 432.00, How could I turn it down?

Put 100 rounds of WWB through it and not one burp. It is more accurate than I am.
I wish this old Linux box would support our digital camera, it was fantastic. I cannot for the life of me figure why he traded it in, probably because of someone else. I finally have the SA of my dreams, and some one already bought the GI Champ I traded in. Sure, I was skeptical too, but now I believe! The SA mag worked great. Now I'm going to use that coupon for more. It is a wonderful thing to find "the gun" you'll keep for life.
