where is the serial # on the 1894c? i need to know if i will be defacing it when i mount a tang sight on it. i wont buy one if i cant put a tang sight on it. thanks guys!

thats too bad i can get one for $400 the cowboy has the # on the side $650+! oh well no sale $250 extra for the serial # in a different place. i dont care if it has an octagon bbl. or not!

You could take it to a gunsmith and have the numbers re-stamped on the lower tang.... Rich

midway sells the lyman#2 tang sight for the marlin 1894 that comes with a special adapter that allows mounting on the tang without damaging the serial # $74.99.
