yea but if that sks or any other gun so much as breaks or stops working like it should can you send it back and get it fixed or get a new one for free for the rest of your life?? it's a buy it one time gun you pay for it one time after that you will never have to pay for any replacment parts to fix it even if you buy eccessories from them and they break you can get new ones from them so it's a good deal anyway you look at it.now sks's and mauser's are in a totally diferent league from the little highpoint carbines but they are a good investment. | |

| Well Troylaplante, I agree it looks alright, but IMHO I wouldn't call it beautiful. I hear their awful fun to shoot haven't as of yet had a chance to shoot one but from the ones I've handled they sure look like they'd be fun!!!

| Comparing the Hi-Point to the SKS is like comparing the M1 Carbine tot he M1 Garand. Both good guns, but in totally different classes! Both good tools to have available. My only real gripe with the Hi-Point stock is the small trigger guard - my finger has a 'crooked' angle when wrapped around the trigger, and I get a lot of rubbing on the side of the finger - uncomfortable to shoot some guns. The new stock design has a much bigger trigger guard. I like the 'Beretta-style' looks too.

| Senior Member | go to this web site and checkout the new stock design they have for the highpoint. they have a bigger trigger guard and it looks kinda like the barreta. it's about half way down the page right below the sks's David's Collectibles Rifle Stocks |

| Love my Hi-Point 9MM Carbine. I put a black ATI stock on it, with a Tasco Aim Point and a barrel shroud from Moerse Lekker. Looks good, shoots great! Haven't really counted, but I've put over a thousand rounds through it with no problems. I do have a two of the after market PRO MAG 15 rd clips and niether one will feed right. Was disappointed. May just need some tweaking. No problems with the factory 10's though, just ordered a couple more of them. Would have no reservations about buying another. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. - Edmund Burke |

| I bought a 9mm Carbine last holiday season and its given me a great return on my investment. I bought it new for $169 plus tax. I loved to shoot it and found it to be reliable and very accurate. Visited an outdoor range with some buddies right after New Years (in another city) and my friend's keep asking me if I'm bringing it back next time because they loved shooting it, and we were shooting AR's and even a lever action 30-30 which I think is actually a really fun gun to just shoot at paper. I'm in the middle of trying to fix a mistake I made with it. I put the ATI stock on. The gun is still acurate, but I have some little things to work on that affect the reliable action of the rifle. I also put a scope on it which looks cool but is kind of worthless considering the rifle is accurate as far as it can accurately shoot with the iron sights. I thought I may just put the old stock on, but then I decided to play with the 995 and buy a 40 cal carbine and just leave it as it is. I love these carbines, though. I haven't bought or shot an HP pistol, but I wouldn't shirk at it if the opportunity caught me in at the right time. Anyway, here's what the 9mm looks like right now. Its fun and inexpensive to shoot. Would I trust my life to it? I would if it were as I bought it. It just fired and fired. I have some work to do to get it back to that point with the new stock. ![]() |

| got a Hi Point a while back, shot about 200 rount thur it, and loaded it put it in the nightstand drawer, 2 weeks later 2 men broke in our house, well I'm here and the 2 men are in the ground, Now I got the 380, and it has a bad clip called Hi Point and was told I had to send it in and it will be replace, with one, so this stuff you here about sending you 2 clips don't belevie it, and the pepole I talked to at Hi Point sure act like I was a pain in the butt, still it's a great gun, will have to see more about the staff there ![]() |

| bought a .40acp hi-point pistol out of curiosity; actualy i traded my llama .45 minimax for it and i regret it; the minimax cycled everything; i have 2-3 misfeeds with the hi-point every 50 rounds unles i use quality ammo like remington (that's not a sales pitch), however that defeats the purpose when ammo is more expensive than the gun; if you are considering buying a .40 or .45 here's a few pointers: 1.This |

| traded my .45 llama mini-max for a new .40 hi-point and i regret it; the mini-max cycled everything; the hi-point has 2-3 misfeeds every 50 rounds unless you use quality ammo which defeats the purpose; this is not a concealed carry and not a gun i would rely on for home protection; you need tool(s) to field-strip it and make sure that you account for all the parts that will fly or fall out; on the good side, it has low recoil as it's heavy and you can kill someone even if it jams by throwing it at him/her |

| I had a friend give me a 9mm Hi Point the gun weighed in at around 39oz so it was like holding a cinder block in your hand, but I thought it shot decently but just for the safety issues with them i would avoid it, saving 200-300 bucks isnt worth the frustration or pain of getting a chunk of that thing lodged anywhere in your body |

| "Blaming guns for violent acts is like blaming the keyboard for your poor spelling." I like that... My HP pistols (9mm and 40S&W) work just great, clip after clip, without any problems. Not as fancy or reputable as others in the bin, but they do very well for the assigned task...
