| How comfortable would you be knowing that your kid's teacher is carrying concealed Hi Folks, I just wanted to know how comfortable you would feel knowing the members of the school administration your child or ward is attending were carrying concealed. Please share with us. |

| i would have rather had the teachers at my school armed with a 9MM and a tazer than have no one there armed the teachers at my friend's school carry tazers, but that's where the ppl who've gotten in trouble go |

| I would be fine with it. In order to get a CCW, the staff member had to undergo training and a practical exam, in most cases. I would actually feel much better than if they remain unarmed. |

| I would feel a TON better. Doesn't Wisconsin allow teachers to CC?

| +1, but only if they passed training satisfactorily and had to pass a mental exam. I had some teachers in highschool that I wouldn't want owning a gun; period. Not just because they were a teacher or in school but just because of who they were and how they acted. You wouldn't believe how ignorant, hard-headed, or just outright stupid some teachers are.

back to the orig ?...i would feel MUCH better provided they have to go through the same training and background checks as the rest of us, possibly even manditory training to ensure thier accuracy...

| That is a small part of the CCW background check here in NC. The sheriff takes prints that get run through the State Bureau of Investigations. They also do a mental health records check and a criminal records check on applicants. Of course, other states may vary. |

| I'm for it myself. If given the chance, I think it would work. The only bad thing is the media would have a field day if there are any problems, percieved, made up, or otherwise. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men to do nothing |

| Sounds like a good idea to me. However, I also agree that they need more training than the average CC permit holder. After all, they are in a room full of bystanders. They need to be able to hit what they are aiming at and know when to not shoot. I like the Tazer idea as well, but they need lots of training with the Tazar. I could see it being used to break up normal fights and arguments when it shouldn't be. |

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | I feel that since the gov't expects us to turn our children over to them to be educated as they see fit, the teachers should at least be able to protect them to the best of their abilities. I would also like to see more family involvement, ie: mom and dad or grandma\granddad helping around out around the school with a 9mm in a fanny-pack or in an ankle holster. No one will fight harder for a child's safety than a parent or grand-parent.

| I would agree if they were tested in the handling and safety of it's use. And a through FBI back ground check. (There's some very weird professors at our colleges.) cubbie mentioned taser's these want work because the shooter will have you shot before you can get close enough to use it. The schools here where I live have armed and trained city police officers at all our schools as a deterent to school shootings and bullying. These are the same cops as the patrolmen that they use, there not hired to do just this position nor are they old retiree's put in security guard uniforms that you see at plants. I really don't see teachers being armed, but I'd go along with it for the above stateted reasons...A.H |

That is a simple point wherein we disagree. Either they are CCW qualified or not, IMHO. Last edited by troylaplante; 06-08-2007 at 11:47 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | |
