| I have a Century Sporter CETME that I bought with one stamped steel CETME mag. When I look for spare mags I run into so many dirt cheap HK aluminum mags, then find a few CETME mags that cost ten times as much, but when I bought the gun, the dealer told me that it won't except HK mags. Is this really true, am I honestly that unlucky??? Thanks for the help.Sean M. Hartman |

| Howdy Sean, That dealer doesn't know his product! I have twelve HK alloy magazines, and all work perfectly well in my CETME. It depends on the rifle. Nearly all are assembled by Century on US made receivers - sometimes the mag latch isn't quite properly placed, causing problems. Usually, this means simply filing the tops of the limiter bumps on the mag to seat it in correctly. Generally an easy fix. I had bought a ten-pack of "used" alloy mags from InterOrdnance a couple years back, and all fit properly. Eight looked 'new', two were only slightly used - price was $19.50. A buck ninetyfive per magazine - very good value!

| H&K G3 and HK91 mags do work in the CETME, but a lot of people have issues with them. There are also folks that have reported purchasing large quantities of the aluminum alloy G3 mags and sorting through them at the range as to which work and which don't, since they're so cheap and you're only out a few bucks on each one and that's only if you don't resell them. I've had feeding issues with my CETME since I got it, so it hasn't mattered whether I used the steel CETME 20rd'rs, the alloy G3 20rd'rs, the steel HK91 30rd'rs, or the CETME 5rd'r; every one had some sort of issue and only 4 out of the 13 mags I have worked through all ten of the rounds I put them through. You can read more on my experience with my CETME here: http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/g3-...-hold-out.html (I couldn't hold out)

| I did the samething , I bought six mags from Cheaper than Dirt. They will fit but some you had to file the sides down a bit to get them to fit flush. they send me a couple of steel ones and alloy ones, they'll work you just need to do some fitting. O'ya if they send you a bent one those tend to jam up, so you cant top them off. I'll be glad to post a pic or two if you need to see the modds I did to my mags. ![]() |

| I too bought a couple of mags from cheaper than dirt and they went right in (with a hard slap) really no different from the original mag. I have heard of people having to file this or that but mine fits satisfactorily! |

| You know, that deal that TAPCO was having would of been the very reason for my question...lol They only went up $20, and 50 mags for $70 still is a heck of a steal if you ask me. Thanks for the info guys. You're all very helpful! I'm glad I've joined this friendly group! I hope to be able to return the favor soon. Maybe I can help some one soon. lol |

I have two 30 round HK91 magazines. They can be acquired on gunbroker.com or other locations that sell H&K magazines. The first page has the stock photo from the auction and the second page, half-way down, has a link to my photobucket album with my CETME pics.

| All of my H-K marked alloy mags fit (with a hard slap) & function fine. Found one steel mag that wouldn't work (yet) but a little Dremel work should fix it, I hope. The CETME should shoot about any .308 you put in it. |
