Nice dude !!! ConGrats. I'll be going Wednesday, maybe I'll score one.
I don't turkey hunt with a gun, I lasso them with a rope, you gotta be fast to do that...A.H

Our New York season just ended and the turkeys won. I've hunted spring turkeys for 10 years and this was the worst. I hunted 24 out of the 31 days and it was the same where ever I went. The turkeys would gobble on the roost and as soon as they hit the ground they would go silent. If you were lucky you might get 1 or 2 courtesy gobbles and that was it for the day. Even on the last day I saw a gobbler in late afternoon with hens. Nobody wanted to play. How was your hunts in the northeast?

I personally use a .22-250 on turkeys, so I don't have to get em in close. I just sit in my deer stand. I normally see 10-20 gobblers a day. I get on in the last couple hours on the last day. I just enjoy watching them.

They are beautiful birds to watch especially so in flight, hard to believe they are so graceful everytime I think of the domestic turkey.

Well can anyone tell me how to make a Tom gobble ??? The next to the last day I went out to my shop and drug out a 2X6 and cut 2 ea 12"
lengths.
My intentions were to slam the 2 pieces of 2x6 together the next morning before dawn to try to startle a gobbler into gobbling.
I never did get to do it because I forgot the boards and I also was going to take them as a joke too mess with my hunt'in buddy.
Anyone ever got one to gobble when they quit ?...A.H
