| Banned | 20 Rules For A Firefight. 20 Rules that just may keep you out of a body-bag! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring their friends who have guns. 2. Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive. 3. Only hits count. Close doesn’t count (except with a grenade). The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss. 4. If your shooting stance is good, you’re probably not moving fast enough nor using cover correctly. 5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. 6. If you can choose what to bring to a gun fight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun. 7. In ten years, no one will remember the details of weapon, caliber, stance or tactics. They will only remember who lived and who didn’t. 8. If you’re not shooting you should be reloading or running. 9. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. 10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty. 11. In combat, there are no rules. Always cheat. Always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose. 12. Have a plan. 13. Have a back up plan because your first plan won’t work. 14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible. The visible target should be in front of YOUR gun. 15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours. 16. Don’t drop your guard. 17. Watch their hands. Hands kill. In God we trust – everyone else keep your hands where we can see them. 18. Decide to be AGGRESSIVE enough QUICKLY enough. 19. The faster you finish a fight the less shot you will get. 20. Be polite. Be professional. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet. |

| Moderator ![]() | Considering that the majority of gun fights happen at close range, I do not necessarily agree with #6 "If you can choose what to bring to a gun fight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun." |

| Banned | Yes that's true if one is thinking of hunting rifles and such as the M1.But as we know the long-arm today, has metamorphosed into a new concept for a long time now.But then again on the other hand,I've witnessed fire fights from several hundred yards to feet.As always the situation is the factor!Just keep the post in mind,it's no fun climbing into a body-bag and a real bummer for those having to carry it.END., |

| Moderator ![]() | Unless you are Wyatt Earp marching towards the OK Corral, it is hard to CCW with a hunting rifle or AR-15. Other than having a rifle as a truck gun, I don't usually consider carrying anything other than a handgun as protection. Fire fights in the military at hundreds of yards, maybe. For average citizens, doubtful. |

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | The basic rule I live by is, "don't never start nothin' you cain't finish." It's kept me out of a lot of trouble over the years. My dad also taught me never to kick a man who's down, because you might make him mad enough to get back up again.

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | I believe my dad's point was that it's one thing to whip a man, but it's dangerous to humiliate him on top of it.
