| Guns near schools I currently attend a private university here in Charlotte. My classes run from 6 to 10 at night. I am aware that night time is the time for most attacks thus I want to carry. We are all aware that guns are a no go at schools but I did find out this interesting piece of info from my local law enforcement....Since my school is private and in a building where other businesses opereate the parking lot is actually public space thus I am legally allowed to carry in the parking lot but not on the floor where my classes are held. Just a bit of gray area I looked into and thought I would share. |

| Do you have my stapler? ![]() ![]() | Yep. That's true. Starting, I believe, September first here in Texas guns aren't allowed in school parking lots either. This is regular school i.e. elementary, high school, middle school. I'm not sure about universities though. That would be good to find out. Anywhere you go just be sure to look out for 30.06 signs. But, as u said, it's a private parking lot so it's allowed in the car.

| I would carry, just don't get caught. One CCW could have ended the VT thing.

| I think in PA,you can't have a "weapon" on school property, but you can have a gun on school property as long as it is for a "lawful purpose". |
