| I've heard good results from more than one member here about them... or at least one or two of them. There are different ones out there. I do intend on getting one for my 91/30 that replaces the rear leaf sight.

| spiritual counselor ![]() ![]() | one poster noticed that there is a dovetail UNDER the rear sight! he put his rings directly on that! i dont know how it worked out but it seems bombproof. it couldnt wiggle if the rings were on there good. it sounds too good to be true but i see no way for it to fail ![]()

| Man, I forgot all about that post. I wanted to check that out. I presently have the mount and scope that Spikestrip has a link for from eBay. Works great with no problems so far(don't be stingy with the loc-tite). But, I do not care for the look that much. If you cut the excess material off of the mount, it is better, but if you can actually mount direct to the rear sight, it would be a lot cleaner look. *********************************************************************************** All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing |

| spiritual counselor ![]() ![]() | why would it be easier to install an extra part instead of using the dovetail that is machined into the receiver?

| A standard scope will not work well on a Mosin without modifying the bolt, and even then you will have to load one round at a time, as the scope will block loading from a stripper clip. I've been using the NCStar, scope and mount, purchased on e-bay and it works great. The long eye relief (LER) scope is pretty much a must-have, in defference to the original side mount sniper rig. For $66+shipping you can't loose. |

| Phillip, mind explanining to me why your going to take a chance on screwing up a gun, when you could just use the dovetail mount? You don't seem like a bright fellow.......
