| These two MK14 MOD 0 rifles are very much alike ~ and yet very, very different. Last edited by Rex Kramer; 07-25-2007 at 07:56 AM. |

| To me, the top one apears to have its forend mounted differently from the bottom picture, as well as a different side mount rail. I could say more, but I don't know what the little holes are called. I would also say that one has a longer barrel. I would guess one is a carbine maybe, but then again I know zero about M14's.

Both are duplicates of the new USN SEAL weapon. Both have 18" chrome lined, M118LR chamber barrels. Both have forged receivers. Both are in SAGE stocks. Short Chop Mod above a full length EBR. The bipods are different. The big difference is that the one pictured first is a fully transferable, select-fire weapon.

Most prefer the traditional MBR look. Quote:
The rare EBR stock in the bottom picture is 1.60" longer than the Chop Mod pictured above it. SAGE stopped making full length EBR stocks 02/2005. For more information visit my web site and read Saga of the SAGE

| Stupid is as stupid does; that is me. This thing seems too fancy. I'll take the old M14 I used over 35 years ago before this thing. You can out fancy yourselves. There is a rule in engineering that simplicitly is elegance. Not sure it exists here. The old version was fairly simple. You could wash it out in a mud puddle and it would work. Just keep it oiled lightly. Thank Curtis LeMay and Robert McNamara for the M16. The M16 is a piece of crud. May be the most overrated rifle ever made. Perhaps it was good for the AP's or walking point, but that is about it. Sorry, even a dumbass is entiltled to an opinion. One thing I have learned the hard way: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We did and messed up. Take care, Mart |

| I spose these are your cuppa tea but I agree I'd rather have the M14 I know and love without all the doodads and extras except one I'd add the match sights with both MOA and 1/2MOA apertures. But that's just my preference.

| This USGI synthetic with RRM stock ~ ~ is as close to no-frills traditional stocks as I want to get.Replace the KAC RAS with a standard hand guard and you have an excellent and accurate open sight shooter. SEI will offer a match rear sight with HALF MOA adjustments very soon. Last edited by Rex Kramer; 07-24-2007 at 06:55 PM. |
