Beretta Neos .22

I purchased a used Beretta Neos .22, it is last years model and previously owned. I'm wondering...Today was the first time that hubby fired it and it failed to load on several occasions, and jammed twice. Please share your thoughts about returning it!!! Should we or shouldn't we??

You can certainly take it back and talk to the people at the gun shop. If it is a large shop you probably stand a better chance to get a store credit or repair than if the shop was small and...how should I say this...not prosperous looking.

I like CCI Mini-Mags for my .22's. What ammo are you using? .22's can be fussy about ammo. The shop owner will probably be more sympathetic to you if you have tried many different ammos. DO NOT use Remington Golden .22's and expect good results. The QC for this particular ammo is shaky.

I purchased a new Ruger and had to put 500 rounds through it until it functioned flawlessly. The gun you purchased may have only been fired a few times.

Where are you in NH? Lewis Arms guarantees their used guns for 30 days. State Line Guns guarantees theirs, too. (I'm in NH, too. Click on the Triggerjerk to the left and that will let you send me an email through the G&G site.)

I have a Beretta Neos, as well. I have never had a jam in mine. We bought it for my wife, who, as it turned out, just didn't like it as much as the Ruger or Buckmark. That is the second .22 that she didn't like after getting it home and shooting it. It did jam for her, but I picked it up, used the same magazines, same ammo batch, and never had a single jam. I don't know if it is her grip or what, but I have fired plenty more ammo through my U22 and had no issues.

Ahhh Thank You Thank You!!!
I did take it back to the shop where I purchased it, and after explaining what was happening the sales man said that it was most likely the ammo. We got some hv rounds and will see what happens. HEHE Also, hubby got a new Kimber 1911 and I got a new Remington 870 super mag. pump action!!! I can't wait to see how these work!!!

Do a Google search for high velocity .22 ammo. Most .22 auto pistols require H.V. ammo to cycle the slide. Also be sure that the gun is clean and properly lubed. BTW, I hope you are aware of the G&G policy on women posting questions. If you ask a question, you are required to be a member for life! You are also required to force your husband to post at least 500 times. All joking aside, my favorite .22 ammo is either CCI Stingers or Mini-Mags. Welcome aboard!

Sansdawn,

My wife's got a Neos, she shoots Remington high velocity brass-plated hollow points. We get them at Bass Pro Shop in boxes of 525 rounds. She has't had more than a few failures and she's on the third box. It's a nice gun, I like it better than my old Buckmark Camper (decent gun, but the top strap screws kept backing out, even with the lock washers, and I didn't want to be using locktite all the time, they needed to be removed for cleaning). Beretta makes a conversion kit that turns the Neos into a rifle. We might look at one of those for Christmas.
