cz 82 C&R status??

Well I won a bid on a cz 82 on gunbroker. and when I e-mailed the guy saying I had sent my payment and copy of C&R he had a cow..NO C&R, FFL ONLY!!! well I checked my book and the ATF website and he is right cz 82 is not listed anywhere, so how can AIM, SOG and J&G Sales offer it as C&R??

Beats me. Email the atf and ask for clarification. Have him do also.

I have already sent gundealers FFL just to get the ball rolling, but I will check into it further, Paul is good to his regulars and only charges $10 for transfer, still made out $20 cheaper than if I got it at AIM

According to Centerfire Systems site, they ARE C&R eligible. I would contact the ATF just to be safe though.

My buddy ordered one from AIM about two weeks ago on a C&R - I doubt AIM would have sold it to him unless it was C&R. I trust AIM more than some yahoo off Gunbroker.

I had a guy that bought a pistol from me a few weeks ago swear I could not ship it to him that it had to come from an FFL. His FFL got rude with me in agreeing with this guy. Oh, the guy buying my pistol was a NY cop - you know the guy that swore he was right after he talked to an ATF guy. The really stupid thing is a couple local gun store guys told me the same thing when I ask them about shipping it. I really hate dealing with stupid people. By the way it is perfectly legal under federal law for any US citizen to ship a pistol via FedEx to a FFL. I wasn't sure of this guys state law (NY) - so I went along with it. By the way UPS told me to take a hike - FedEx was very cool about it, and said bring it on over - but it has to go like second day air or something.

I brought all this up to point out that the average person on this forum likely knows more about firearm regulations that the average gun-store dude or especially Gunbroker guy.

These pistols ARE C&R eligible here is the letter to the ATFE. They have been ruled C&R due to their museum status...being in the West Point Museum...
Check here to show the approval.

Thanks for the info, but I could tell from the way this guy freaked it would be pointless to argue the fact with him and it was just easier to eat the cost of the transfer, only $10, than to bang my head

agaist the wall.

Are you in the same state as the seller? If not it has to go to a FFL even if C&R

They are C&R but a C&R holder cannot ship a C&R pistol out of state to a C&R holder, only if you both live in the same state. Aim can do it as they are a FFL holder

Where did you get that idea?
I have shipped many C&R handguns to other C&R holders from other states as they have to me also...you have to ship UPS...although I have gotten away with shipping a C&R handgun to another C&R holder via USPS.

There are a couple states that do not allow C&R to C&R though (like Commiefornia)

But overall C&R handgun shipping from a C&R holder to another C&R holder from another state is perfectly LEGAL.

Yep, what he said - except I am not sure about the USPS part with handguns.

No it does not. A C&R licensee can recieve a gun from an individual as long as the C&R holder gives a copy of his license to the Seller to keep on file and as long as the Buyer recieves a copy of the Seller's license or his/her mailing address and logs this info into his bound book.

My ffl holder ask me how I wanted my CZ shipped after he told me my options and I choose U.S. Mail (Priority) because it was cheaper, but it went to his house though.

I'm pretty sure the main reason for getting a C&R liscense was so I didnt have to go through a FFL 01. I have already bought a fer C&R weapons from FFL 01 whitout any problems, I send a copy of my license and payment and they send me my purchase and a copy of their liscense fro my A&D. This guys biggest issue is that the cz 82 is not on the C&R list. with all the stupid stuff the goverment spends money on I think a good idea is to notify all FFL holders any changes , i.e. mail, e-mail, etc.., so everybody is on the same page..

Just be glad they aren't kicking in your door to look at your guns.

Seriously their Search Engine sucks. I typed in C&R Status of CZ 82 and got this: ATF Online Search Results: C&R Status of CZ 82 site:www.atf.gov
