For sure she's a beaut, kR! But, I could never get into the "lizard-skin" grip and strapping. I much prefer the original diamond grip and straight-line strapping.

For the longest time, I've wanted the Kimber Pro CDP II. I just love the reverse two tone with the black frame and chrome slide; would make for much easier concealment. Just way too much money... though, the Kimber is the only 1911 that I have never had an issue with too much recoil or too much "bang" out of a .45. What's funny is I get less recoil and bang out of my sub-compact GLOCK 27 in .40S&W... go figure.

Read the manual about the breakin and shoot good quality 230gr FMJ Ammo. Also I highly recommend buying a bunch of the Wilson Combat Mags and using them.

Don't forget to use a lot of Lub. on the slide rails while shooting I like Breakfree CLP. 1911s don't like running dry.

Don't worry about a few FTFs or FTE in the first 200 rounds.

Remember to get and extra recoil spring in time it will need replacing.

Good Shooting.

I was careful in breaking in my Kimber Ultra Carry and used only Fiocchi ammo. For years I have used this brand for target and range practice with absolutely no malfunctions. The gun is extremely accurate...more so than my standard 1911s.

Clean the barrel before, during, and after shooting. I use a light coating of Militec in all my weapons.

Works for me

Doc
