| Mr. Fixit ![]() | Man this sucks, I'm several hundred miles from the coast, but this storm is pounding us. I live along a creek that is around 30 ft deep, 40 ft across, and normally dry. Our neighborhood was just minutes from a mandatory evacuation due to flooding. Several other areas around us had flood damage and one woman was killed when her car got washed away in a flash flood. I'm in Oklahoma City right now and my wife flew up to spend yesterday and today with me, so neither of us was home to do anything if it had flooded our place. I'm thanking God that it didn't happen and praying for those that got hit.

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | Hang in there, toolman. Do you have that lovely Oklahoma mud in your area that sticks to your feet when you walk, until you're teetering on clay stilts?

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | Hey Troy, ours isn't as bad as Oklahomas' mud but it's about the same color. I found some pics here. If you look at the second gallery down, the building just to the left of the blue-roofed bldg. in the center is my local gunshop(in the water right where the dry area ends). The tan bldg. w\light-colored roof on the far left at the intersection of the two streets is our apt. bldg. Abilene neighborhoods swamped as creeks overflow : Local News : Abilene Reporter-News
