Interesting 1911 Abuse Test

Some of you have probably seen this, but maybe some of you haven't. Cool review, don't try it at home.

Wow, he must have you know whats the size of grapefruits. Even when the Mythbusters fired guns underwater, they made a remote trigger pull machine to possibly save their hands and fingers.

The M1911A1, battle proven for over 80 years, too tough to give up and too stupid to "Know" it's unreliable (laughing at that). Try that run with a M9 and see what happens! I trust and Love my Warhorse!

Mythbusters is exaggerated and overblown. They are a commercialized "PC" outlet and go 200% to CYA. Everytime they fire anything that shoots a projectile, they get that Sherrif's Dept. dude out there who stands back & watches with a look on his face like: "Why did they make me take this job!?"

Or, whenever they do something with fire, they gotta get the Fire Inspection crew to make sure it is not dangerous and then have a fire crew ready to put out the flames, even when they are in an open field with dirt or in the middle of a 600-yard wide runway somewhere, heck, even when they caught the boat on fire (IT IS SITTING IN WATER, AND NO ONE IS ON IT), they had the fire crew waiting.

I think it is all meant to sesationalize the situations.

It's the network covering their ass. Those two yokels would probably do much crazier stuff on their own, without the network writing the rules.

I saw an episode of Guns and Ammo TV once where the Torture testers placed a firearm in a pool and fired a few rounds through it. It was determined there was a slight bit of barrel bulging was noticed. I vaguely remember, when I was in the Navy, reading a report on a newer design that was being implemented with some of the handguns that were being deployed by SpecOps to allow them to safely function after being totally submerged. I don't remember the details, I think it had something to do with the bushing design and such.

Gun writers love to write BS articles when things are slow and they need to sell something to help with their salaries.
