Model 70 beaver tail

Recently bought an Ed Brown beaver tail safety for my Colt Model 70. I then started thinking maybe I would greatly diminish the value of the Colt by having the BT installed. This pistol has had less than 50 rounds thru it and shows like NIB (95% condition)

What do you guys think, as I value your opinions!

Al my other 1911a have Beaver Tails.

Save it for the collectors and use the beaver tail on another pistol.

I would say that since you fired it and probably will continue to do so, go ahead and change it to a beavertail , just put the original in a bag in the box so it can be replaced, or accompany the gun if sold ! It wont really affect value since it is not NEW/UNFIRED in the Box.

i agree, it wont affect the value. though, once you install a brown beavertail safety the original can never be reinstalled. wilson combat offers a drop in that doesnt look as good, but does offer some of the benefits of a good beavertail.
