So I woke up with the wife wanting me to take her out for a day hunting. I played guide for the first hour till she shot her limit then she let me shoot mine. The little boy shot only 3.. The other kids were all in church LOL hahaha. man were they pissed when they got home.. See pics nice mix of blues, ruffies and one pine hen. Gosh those italians make nice shotguns. These pics are about 1/2 mile up the road from the house

Looks like prairie chickens to me. Am I correct? There were lots of those birds where I was raised in SE KS in the blue grass hills area around El Dorado, KS.

I dunno what a prarie chicken is. we are hunting forest grouse, the smaller birds are ruffed grouse. The bigger ones are blue grouse or pine hens. We do hunt sage grouse and sharp tail but they live in the sage brushy areas of the county its about 40 minutes to go find them, they might be what you call prarie chickens. Anyone who has ever eaten a full grown sage grouse can attest to the fact that if you have an old pair of boots eat those first. Kinda cool though they get the biggest of the grouse family here. Bigger then a domestic chicken. we call then brush bombers. Went tonight and my daughter shot a couple blues we came home and ate them for dinner. Very nice
