I've two O.M. Vaqueros, one N.M. Blackhawk, One single-six, one Bisley Vaquero and a 10/22. Really like my Vaqueros the two .22s are fun guns The Vaqueros are for business and the Blackhawk's for target competition. I have found that both my OMVs shoot high with 250-255 grain bullets so with those I learned to aim low 3 to 4" on an eight X 11" target @ 50' will get me into the body mass zone and 4 to 6" @ 25 yards will do the same on a 4' silhouette The Blackhawk is fairly accurate @25yds but I am in the process of "fine-tuning" it right now. The .22 revolver and the 10/22 are great plinkers out to 12-15 yds and 50 yds respectively The . 45 LC Bisley model is really my son's and I've only fired it once or twice with full cylinders Last edited by Cyrille; 08-23-2007 at 02:23 PM. Ruger 1022 that I recently sold to a newcomer to the sport, she's young and not much money, I wanted to make sure her first gun was a winner. That little rifle never failed to turn in half inch groups at fifty yards. Ruger MKII, stainless 5and a half bull barrel. Also an excellent shooter. Ruger No.1 in .300 Weatherby, one hole groups at a hundred. And A pair of polished stainless 5.5 inch Vaqueros with sequential numbers, My favorites, I love filling both hands and just blasting away, very therapeutic. |

Whats my Ruger : The Thread wasn't just for hand guns. I think. My 1st Ruger was the Single Six that came with 2 cylinders. I traded it with a Marlin 30-30 to get a Remington 742 in 30-06 caliber. My 2nd. Ruger is the new Hawkeye boltaction in 308 caliber. This gun appears Flawless. Fit and finish even with the synthectic stock is perfect. The Mauser type action is a work of art, the no glare mutted stainless steel finish is actually befitting to the black composit stock. The trigger mechanism is Rugers LC6 Target trigger and breaks like nothing I've ever pulled a trigger on...Good Gosh it's got a nice trigger pull ! I expect this gun to be accurate, but I have'nt shot it due to the heat outdoors. If it's does not at least shoot 1/2 groups or less at 1oo yards I will trade it off for something else that will...A.H |

Well, since you asked, I have three. I have the obligatory 10/22. It is the Delux Sporter model with a walnut stock and checkering. I retrofitted the sights with Williams Firesights. Like many automatics, it is picky about ammunition. It will only shoot high velocity copper coated reliably. Regular velocity does not always cycle reliably and plain lead gets distorted if the receiver is hot. The best feature of course are the factory rotary magazines where each round has its own parking space. The worst feature is that it is difficult to keep clean. I also have a Super Single Six, stainless steel with a 6.5" barrel and moveable sights. It is pretty heavy and the Pachmayer grip I added helps with that. It is accurate, reliable and just plain fun. I find the 0.22LR cylider is more accurate than the 0.22WMR. I added a HiViz front sight for shooting at the indoor range. Finally, I have the Mark III "Hunter." I bought this one barely used after the previous owner decided he really wanted a SW 41 after shooting a 100 rounds. It is stainless steel with a 7" fluted barrel, target crown, HiViz sights and cocobolo grips. As with the 10/22 it prefers high velocity, copper coated cartidges and is difficult to clean. It is exceptionally accurate. |

Balanced, accurate, reliable, not much else to say...Its just a Ruger ![]() Pics for ya! I got 2. A Mark II, which I like. But hated to clean the 1st few times because of reassembly. But I'm used to it now. I also have my personal favorite, a .44 mag carbine. I love that gun, it's sights and it's accuracy. Matter of fact I going to buy a Gp101 in .357

My wife's got a P90 that I've fired numerous times and she loves it. It's also great for a southpaw, like she is. - Coeloptera |

I love all my Rugers, and miss the ones I've gotten rid of over the years. Currently: Blackhawk 4" barrel, .357 - Love the way the trigger breaks, smooth and crisp. Low recoil with Pacmyar grips. Just a pleasure to shoot Super Blackhawk 7 1/2 barrel, .44 Mag- This thing will shoot any ammo fed to it, and shoot it accurately. I have shot 10's of thousands of rounds through this weapon and it is still tighter than other manufacturers new ones. Will never give it up! Security Six 2 3/4" barrel, .357 - For a stubby this thing is so accurate it is a bit scary. I had to take a handgun course because I let my CCW lapse and the instructors (All local Sheriff deputies) wanted to buy it from me. Smooth as silk, another one I'll never part with. The prerequisite 10/22 - Had the "new" one for the past 30+ years and it still shoot like a dream. I would hate to guess how many pounds of lead have traveled down the barrel of this gun. It still drives tacks at a respectable distance. Another 10/22 - This one came from my Grandfather who bought it the first year they came out. I have never seen another stock like it, wide forearm with nice scalloped accents on either side of the barrel, a bit larger comb with almost a Weatherby style to it. I have bought and sold many GP-100's. The year they came out I would order one for myself and as soon as it came in, I would go shooting with friends. They would see how well it handled and shot, but couldn't find them at the dealers up here, so I would sell them mine and order another one. After 5 or 6, I finally just stuck to my old Security Six, because frankly I liked the way it fit my hand better. A couple of MarkII's, both standard and bull barrel versions. Best shooting little auto's I've ever owned. Can you see a common thread through each of them? Accurate and dependability! What more can you ask for? |

I only have one Ruger at the moment and it is the first one I have ever owned. I hope to change that soon. It's a P89 9mm. It's a real nice handgun I enjoy it. Shoots great looks good.
