good truck gun for wshtf

i took a m44 and did some work to it to make it a good truck gun ... i figured hell the gun is cheap so why not play around a bit .... the way i figure it is i always keep the rifle in my truck lock box so why not have it come complete with ammo an spare parts just incase im left with just the rifle and no supplies ... i have a sling that holds 20rds plus 9 rds on the stock then i drilled out a 1 1/2 hole in the butstock under the metal plate to house spare parts an fire starting tools and some fishing line/hooks.. who knows may just save my life someday .. better to have then not to have right ? just an idea and incase your wondering what spare part i keep in there well i have found out the hard way the only part that would really break on a mosin nagant is the ''interupter/ejector assembly '' they are the parts that keep the rounds in the magizine and yes they are fragile just a heads up

Cool idea, just make sure you have a screw driver to get the butt plate off.

fix the butt plate

Add a slip on recoil pad instead of the screw on plate, that will hold, cut recoil, and be easy off if needed

I been thinking about getting a hi-point .40 to keep in my car. Gets the job done and is not so expensive that I would care about the monetary loss if it were stolen. (I would be worried about any crimes against folks it may become involved in, however)
