| Loading the 9 x18
Loading the 9 X 18 Makarov From Lee get yourself a case trimmer for the 9 x18 Next get yourself bullets that measure .363 to .365 for the 9x18 ( Midway ) ( Berry’s Mfg ) Take a normal 9mm case and trim down to .695 Next size with a 9x18 Lee 3 die set Next bell the mouths slightly so the bullets will just start in and stop with the thru powder die Next color the heads RED Next use small pistol primers Next load with 3.4 grains of Bullseye powder Next load the bullets to a COL of .970 Next crimp all reloads slightly This has worked for me for years without any problems The nice thing about the 9 mm is that I manage to pick up hundreds at ranges in a year all free 9 mm or 9x 19 all the same — 9 mm short will not work –these will work for the 380 ![]() slow fuse NOTE: Since these reloads are now different from any 9 mm, I color the heads RED before the primers are put in that way they won’t wind up in any other 9 mm which could make you wish you had never gotten up that day . |

That's pretty much my routine but I learned the hard way that you've either got to expand the cases or turn the shoulder down on the Lee case length gauge, in order to keep the gauge from sticking in the small dia. case as it goes down.
